Street outreach helps end the cycle of homelessness in Milwaukee

Founded in 2016, Street Angels Milwaukee has grown into a leading provider of street outreach services made possible through the generous support of our community. Their diverse team builds lasting relationships with individuals experiencing homelessness, offering resources, hope, and a pathway to stability.

Street Angels is driven by a shared passion for serving friends in need with dignity and compassion, believing in a two-pronged approach to combating homelessness: (1) Addressing urgent needs, like hunger, through direct service and basic supplies. And (2) Connecting individuals with resources to break the cycle of homelessness by providing essential services and empowering our neighbors, we aim to create a future without homelessness.

"The Rota Foundation’s support has played an important role in helping Street Angels continue its outreach efforts to individuals experiencing unsheltered homelessness. This $15,000 grant awarded to Street Angels provides hope through 1,250 nourishing hot meals, fuel for 71 nights of mobile outreach, and one month’s facility lease expenses. All critical components that make consistent and impactful homeless outreach possible.

Because of the Rota Foundation’s investment, Street Angels outreach teams are able to remain focused on meeting individuals where they are to provide nourishment, compassionate support, and connections to resources that may help individuals begin moving toward stability.

Most importantly, Street Angels staff and volunteers played a role in connecting 125 individuals or families to shelter and/or permanent housing resources, ending their unsheltered homelessness. The Rota Foundation’s support played a critical role in making this work possible and helping ensure that our most vulnerable neighbors received compassionate care, essential resources, and renewed hope.

Street Angels is deeply grateful for the Rota Foundation’s commitment to strengthening the community and supporting neighbors who are experiencing unsheltered homelessness. Partnerships like this make it possible to continue showing up week after week with hope, dignity, and practical assistance for those who need it most."
